This presentation deals with the formation of Islamism in Turkey as a bottom-up social movement from a class perspective and the reflection of the Hak-İş Confederation on the unionization of this movement. The phases of Islamism from the Second Constitutional Monarchy period to the present day are quite remarkable. While Islamism was put forward as an ideology of saving the state in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, in the early republican period, it transformed from resistance against the occupier into a struggle to transform the people back into conscious Muslims. However, since the 1950s and especially since the 1960s, a different Islamism has emerged. From this point of view, this study tries to discuss the transformation of Islamism, its formation as a social movement, its development, transformation and its reflections in the political, social and cultural spheres. Following this, the needs of the Turkish industrial relations system from which the Hak-İş confederation emerged are analyzed and this union movement is evaluated in the form of the reflection of the Islamist movement on the union field. The study discusses the transformations of Islamism in Turkey and the manifestations of a social movement in the trade union field, as well as the struggle practices of Muslim workers in Turkey.
