Al-Rāzī states that there should be certain criteria on how to interpret the divine text, especially which of them should be prioritized in the conflict between reason and reason, and in this context, he develops the theory of the falsity of linguistic evidence. According to al-Rāzī's theory, verbal pieces of evidence are subject to errors that are likely to occur in the transmission of lexical knowledge, the rules of sarf and nahiv, and different linguistic possibilities such as metaphor, association, and transmission. Therefore, religious texts do not express certain knowledge without presumption. Ibn Taymiyya and Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya, two of the leading figures of the neo-classical Salafist approach, criticized the view that verbal evidence expresses conjecture rather than certain knowledge as an idol and criticized this view in a marginalizing manner. In this presentation, the discourse of religious exclusionism produced within the framework of the certainty of language will be analyzed and it will be pointed out that this discourse stems from the misunderstanding of al-Rāzī's words. In this examination, firstly, what is meant by religious exclusivism will be explained and the verbal and real context that forms the intellectual background of the theory of the certainty of language will be given.
