(Foundations of Ethics)
The book titled "Foundations of Ethics" delves into the philosophical investigation of the underlying meaning and principles of ethical actions that we encounter in many of our daily activities. While everyday situations make ethics easily understandable and discussable from a human perspective, going beyond that requires an inquiry into the meaning and principles underlying ethical actions. Such an investigation can only result from a philosophical effort that rigorously examines ethics.
Examining the principles that constitute the source of ethical choices, questioning the nature of the good, and understanding the meaning of values necessitate a philosophical inquiry into the foundations of ethics. The series of talks titled "Conversations on the Foundations of Ethics," conducted within the framework of the "Islamic Ethics Thought Project" under the auspices of Scientific Studies Association (ILEM) and Foundation for Science Culture and Education (ILKE) , emerged with the aim of addressing this purpose. In this book, you will find the outcomes of talks held between September 2013 and May 2014, seeking answers to the question, "What is the foundation of ethics?"
