Morality is a field that is widely discussed within Islamic thought, ranging from practical philosophy to various religious sciences. Therefore, while morality is considered as one of the philosophical sciences, it is also discussed in different aspects within religious sciences such as hadith, theology, jurisprudence, and Sufism. In order to examine and present morality in all its dimensions, which intersects with multiple disciplines, it is necessary to consider these sciences in terms of their own dynamics. Such an effort seems essential for a comprehensive understanding of morality within Islamic thought.
Based on this need, within the scope of the "Islamic Moral Thought Project" conducted by the Scientific Studies Association (İLEM) and the Science Culture Education Association (İLKE), roundtable discussions titled "Fundamental Characteristics of Islamic Moral Literature" were held between March 2013 and March 2014, where the literature on morality was discussed within its own characteristics. This book consists of articles that are based on the presentations made during these discussions.
