Hadith Debates in Islamist Journals
The majority of studies in the field of Hadith focus on early Hadith discussions. This is expected considering the centrality of certain debates during the early centuries and the formation period of Hadith science. In the era where modernization is at the forefront, particularly from the second half of the 19th century onwards, Hadith is examined in the context of interpretation, history, and commentary. The widespread availability of Hadith books through the printing press and their reach to larger audiences via printed publications such as journals and newspapers led to an increase in recipients and an expansion of discussions. This book provides preliminary insights into the general overview of Hadith studies between 1900 and 2000 and what can be found in published journals regarding this period.
The aim of the "Fikir ve Hareket İncelemeleri" (Ideas and Movements Studies) series is to present a framework and an original perspective on prominent figures, journals, and issues that reflect the intellectual accumulation of Islamism, which appears in almost every field. The books included in the series cover various topics of interest related to Islamic thought. In this regard, the goal is to contribute to the understanding of these issues on a foundational level and at an introductory level.
