(Introduction to the Intellectual History of the Mamluks – I Literature Review)
This study examines how the intellectual reality of the late medieval Mamluk cities is reflected in modern research. This intellectual environment, where women, children, and students of knowledge from the four schools of thought came together, contains many more questions and issues that can be explored. By offering new approaches and methods in the field of Mamluk intellectual history, the study provides an opportunity to understand how the subject is problematized from different perspectives, how to approach Mamluk sources, and what kind of questions can be asked, thus developing new perspectives in the field.
