The sixth of İLEM Policy Notes, in which information and policy recommendations of the Association for Scientific Studies are shared with the public, was written by İskender Gümüş, a faculty member at Kırklareli University. The article titled "Minimum Wage in Election Declarations: An Evaluation in terms of Humanitarian Wage" evaluates the minimum wage promises in the election declarations prepared by different political parties before the June 7, 2015 general elections.
Gümüş emphasizes the importance of the emphasis on social policy in the election manifestos and discusses the possibilities of the promises put forward by the CHP, MHP, HDP and Ak Parti, which will be represented in the parliament in the coming period, for minimum wage earners, who constitute a significant part of the electorate. Emphasizing the need for the minimum wage to be determined not only by the state, but by the joint agreement of all parties, workers, employers and the state, Gümüş tries to contribute to the government policies to be established from this perspective by addressing the minimum wage debates in the context of humanitarian wages.
