This book attempts to present the thought of Kalam, which has a historical depth of more than thirteen centuries, within its classical structure and systematic texture (usūli selāse). Although its main structure is largely based on the classical literature and the thematic spectrum of this discipline (divinity, prophethood, and meād), its content also includes new chapters, such as the human being and the Qur'ān, which have gained importance in the modern period. The work, which consists of twenty-one chapters in total, begins with an introduction that defines the thought of Kalam in terms of its chronology, issues, and occasions and proceeds with the chapters on knowledge and method, which have the characteristics of an introduction.
The work concludes with complementary chapters in which the issues of divinity, prophethood, and meād gain importance in the scheme of classical Kalam. Thus, with the joint efforts of competent scholars, classical Kalam thought is presented in a comprehensive and comparative approach in terms of its issues and occasions.
