After two summer schools in 2013 and 2014 under the titles of “Transformation of Muslim World in the 21st Century” and “State and Society in Muslim World”, the main theme for the 3rd Summer School is “Social Justice and Poverty in Muslim World”.
In the contemporary Muslim world, the issue of social justice and poverty awaits special attention and solutions. Most Muslim countries experience and suffer from wars and colonial pressures, which results in increasing degree of poverty. This being the case, social justice is becoming a more important and vital issue of analysis. In addition, the concept of social justice cannot be realized apart from eradicating the problem of poverty on a global scale. For Muslims and non-Muslim alike, it is vital to analyze these socio-political processes from a historical perspective, tracing the reasons for poverty in the Muslim world. For this purpose, Scientific Studies Association (ILEM) cordially invites researchers from around the world to share their intellectual experience in the 3rd International ILEM Summer School held on August 1-9, 2015 at Konya. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
Only graduate students can participate in the program. Applications must be completed through this online form. The program is limited to 45 participants.
