In the workshop where Mustafa Kömürcüoğlu delivered the opening speech and there was a wide participation, historical sources, historiographical processes and developments in the science of history in the contemporary period were examined. The workshop focused firstly on the position of the historical sources written in the Indian Subcontinent for its own period and beyond, secondly on the processes of historiography in the Indian Subcontinent, and thirdly on the developments, deepening, transformations, expansion or differentiation in the science of history in the Indian Subcontinent in the contemporary period.
Nureddin Hamim, Hasan Asadi, Umut Kansoy, Hilal Şahin, Abdullah Mamun, Minhazul Abedin, Azmi Özcan, Mahmut Cihat İzgi and Abdulkadir Macit presented their papers at the workshop.
In the first session of the workshop, papers were presented on Historiography in the Early Period, in the second session on Historiography in the Mughal Period, in the third session on Historiography in the Period of Local Sultanates, and in the fourth session on Historiography in the Context of Science and Culture. After the papers, the workshop was finalized with a discussion environment in the form of “question and answer”.
