The Project on the Memory of Publishing in Turkey (TYH), organized by the Academic Studies Association (ILEM) with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, ended with oral history interviews and workshops with 22 different names.
Within the scope of the Project on the Memory of Publishing in Turkey (TYH), which aims to reveal the publishing activities in which intellectual production is rooted in Turkey and the ways in which publishing processes take place in the memory of witnesses, 22 different oral history interviews have been conducted since April 2020. In over 35 hours of interviews, both the political atmosphere and cultural spaces of Turkey were discussed in the context of the field of publishing, which became widespread, and visible and produced important outputs after 1980.
While the oral history interviews continued, an Oral History Workshop was organized to discuss the history of publishing in Turkey and to listen to the experiences of important publishers in Turkey. All oral history interviews and the oral history workshop were shared with the audience on https://www.tyh.org.tr/ and İLEM TV.
The oral history interviews conducted within the context of the project have been published in the book titled The Memory of Publishing in Turkey, edited by Project Coordinator Lütfi Sunar and Project Coordinator Büşra Bulut: Oral History Interviews with Publishers, edited by Project Coordinator Büşra Bulut.
The book, which will be published by ILEM Publications in the near future, is already attracting the attention of readers.
