In Turkey, publishing is an area that is contemplated and discussed from various perspectives, yet there is little research on the impact of publishing activities on intellectual processes. In this context, the unique history of publishing has not found much place in academic literature. The project, which started in 2019 with the aim of identifying the publishing activities where intellectual production takes root in Turkey, is a pioneering initiative within Oral History studies. The Memory of Publishing in Turkey Project aims to shed light on a period of publishing history in Turkey through personal memory and narratives.
With the project, the structural elements of the publishing field in Turkey are examined through the testimonies of the founders or frequenters of these spaces.
